Eriez Magnetics Tramp Iron Magnets
Eriez Magnetics plate magnets are available in varying degrees of strength. Normally used in chutes or above process streams, plate magnets are designed to remove tramp iron ranging in size from hand tools to fine mesh grains. This type of magnet is supplied with a hinge and latch for access and cleaning. Both ceramic and rare earth versions are available.
Grate magnets are designed for use in vertical chutes with free flowing materials. Eriez Magnetics' grate magnets are available in ceramic and rare earth strengths, they can be furnished in manual and self-cleaning styles
Trap magnets from Eriez Magnetics are similar in basic design to a grate magnet but are used in pressurized liquid lines to remove medium and small iron. Ceramic, rare earth and easy clean models are available.
Cartridge magnets are used in pressurized pneumatic conveying lines. Available in popular tube sizes, Eriez Magnetics' cartridge magnets feature a removable magnetic element for off-line cleaning. This style magnet is available in both ceramic and rare earth strengths.
Eriez Magnetics' drum magnets are used for the separation of medium to fine iron on a continuous, self cleaning basis. Normally enclosed, this magnet has a stationary internal magnetic arc and a driven, rotating shell. Material is delivered to the top of the drum, magnetic particles are carried past the vertical tangent and then discharged separately from the non-magnetic product.

Suspended magnets are used over belt conveyors to extract large tramp iron before it can damage conveyor belting, crushers and grinders. Available in manual and self-cleaning styles they can be either permanent or electomagnetic. Eriez Magnetics has built some of the world's largest suspended electromagnets for use in mining operations.
Pulley magnets are also associated with removing relatively large tramp iron, usually nails, staples, etc from waste wood and other bulk materials being proceesed. The Eriez Magnetics' magnetic pulleys replace the head pulley on a belt conveyor and uses the conveyor belt to strip away captured iron from the rotating magnet assembly.
